Due to possible destruction of this beautiful area, concerned climbers found it necessary to unite and form the Queen Creek coalition. The Queen Creek coalition is a group of rock gym owners, store owners, climbing club presidents, organization presidents, guidebook authors, all formed to represent the climbing community. The QCC board is made up of climbers who know the Queen Creek area well. Several of us have climbed there for nearly twenty years and have established many of the routes and boulder problems in the canyon. Several of us have been working for some time to preserve climbing and recreational opportunities in QC canyon. The QCC’s goal is to preserve the climbing we can preserve in and around Queen Creek canyon and to find ways to develop new climbing opportunities in the region, some of which may happen with Resolution’s help, as a way of compensating climbers for climbing that will be lost or jeopardized by Resolution’s large scale mining operation.
