What areas are currently closed to climbing at Queen Creek? That's easy! None! At the current time, climbers are okay to climb on all the established climbing areas. How can I help the Queen Creek Coalition? Stay tuned to this site for information, write your congressmen to let them know how you feel, Where do I park for the mine area? The mining company has placed a gate across the road and there is no longer parking at the "old" parking are for the Mine Areas. They leveled out a "new" parking spot a few dozen feet from the fence gate that now goes across the road. Park there and along the paved road and hike in. Can we go to Lower Devils and how do we get there? How's the road? Yes, you can go to Lower Devils and the mine equipment and operators generally don't block things. If they do block you, then please let us know. Also, the road was improved in early 2008 but ensuing rains have again made the road a 4WD excursion, though not as bad as in the past few years. Can we camp at Oak Flat? Yes, it's still "your" campground since it is still a publicly owned protected property. Can we go to Tamo? Yes, although the road does cross private land, it is not posted against trespass. We recommend that you go in with somebody who is knowledgeable about the roads and has perhaps been there before. It's a narrow, 4WD road and there is active mining exploration in the area so the access could change at any time without notice.
